About Carpel Medicos
Carpel Medicos was formed to fulfil the wishes of a great son of Indian soil, Dr A. Mateen Ahmed, inventor of the Ahmed Glaucoma valve (AGV). Dr Ahmed wanted to help Glaucoma patients in saving their sight with the help of his invention AGV, through the respected ophthalmologists in India.

Behind the invention of the revolutionary Glaucoma Drainage Device is a dedicated person, Dr A. Mateen Ahmed. Born and brought up in India, he did his masters from IIT, Delhi and his doctorate from AIIMS, Delhi and has been busy ever since with his research work and inventions in the USA for the past 32 years. He dedicated 17 years of his life to helping those who are going blind all over the world due to Glaucoma. The success of Ahmed Glaucoma Valve has not curbed his enthusiasm for helping humanity. Since the invention of the AGV, Dr Ahmed has been busy working towards inventing and innovating new methods and measures of helping doctors and patients to aid them on their difficult path of dealing with this silent thief of sight, Glaucoma.
